Over ashes or grave-earth of the dead, the caster asks one question. The dead answer truthfully but briefly and often crookedly, and they remember being asked. The same dead cannot be questioned twice by the same caster.
Ingredients
- Ashes or grave-earth of the dead one (50 g).
- A coin placed where a tongue would be.
- Myrrh, burnt (10 g).
- Candles of black wax, one lit, one unlit.
- The question, written and then burnt.
