Élsor

Élsor is a fortified village of some 200 people (about 40 houses) at the timber bridge over the border river, south of Élein.
The bridge, timber on stone piers, is the only crossing for miles and is watched day and night. The palisaded village holds the east bank; the dark forest holds the west. The river road runs north-south through the village.
Every plank of the bridge is counted, the garrison jokes, and so is every soul that crosses it.
