General description
This is perhaps the most beautiful bird of prey in Amar. It has a black hood, a dark ash-gray back and a white breast with black stripes. Females are larger than the males. The tail is rather short and the wings are pointed. The peregrine falcon lives in most terrains from forests and plains to mountains, especially near water.
Social structure
They are usually solitary, but a couple will cooperate on nest building and food fetching in the mating season.
Diet
The falcons are among Amar’s fastest birds. They dive onto their prey from great heights. They are masters of air acrobatics and feed only on birds. In a dive they can reach a speed of about 300 km/h.
Mental description
The peregrine falcon is a smaller relative of the hunting falcon, and is often tamed and trained for hunting purposes. They are usually quite shy, but will defend their nest. The nest’s placing is their best protection, as they are on inaccessible cliffs.
