General description
The fur is grayish yellow with a dark brown to black stripe running along the back from the shoulders to the tail. Only bulls have horns, which are changed once a year. Each horn has got 1–12 points, depending on age and last years food supply. The deer is usually found in hilly areas with leaf trees and often in cultivated areas.
Social structure
The deer is usually solitary, but in the mating season (the autumn) deer will gather in herds of one male and up to 15 females. During the mating season the bull will not eat, losing weight and later its horns.
Diet
They are vegetarian, eating leaves, grass, shoots, water plants and in times of little food, bark.
Mental description
A deer will, if possible, try to flee a human, but cows with calves will be very aggressive and so will the bull during the mating season.
