The fur is dark gray-brown with the underside of the body and lower part of the legs light gray. Only bulls have horns, which are changed once a year. The maximum length between horn tips is two meters. The horns may have from 3–12 points (per horn) depending on age and last years food supply. The moose is found in needle-leaf forests, often with moist ground.
The moose is solitary, but cows will often be accompanied by one or two calves.
As the deer.
A moose will always try to flee, but will fight to its death if escape is impossible. Cows are very aggressive as long as the calves are still young. If a calf is touched by a human, the cow will leave it behind.
